Apply for the Certified Social Work Manager Credential
CSWM applications are open year-round.
Decisions are released 30 days after the deadline for each cycle.
Spring cycle: December 15
Summer cycle: April 15
Fall cycle: August 15
Applications submitted after a deadline will be held for the next review cycle
Application requirements:
- Copy (PDF) of an issued Social Work Degree (BSW/MSW/Ph.D/DSW)
- A cover letter highlighting at least 2 years of documented supervisory/leadership experience in human services, non-profit, or higher education
- A 500 word statement of the candidate’s work experience related to Leadership & Management
- Ask an immediate supervisor to complete the Certified Social Work Manager Supervisor Reference Form. When you pay the initiation fee, you will get an email you can forward to them.
- $50 initiation fee
Your application will not be considered complete until we've received your application, your supervisor's reference form and the initiation fee.
Completion requirements:
- Upon review and approval, the CSWMs can gain their CE requirements from the Network for Social Work Management or by attending our Annual Conference/Forward Thinking Summit
- To maintain the CSWM credential, the candidate needs to complete 12 CE hours from the Network for Social Work Management or attend our Annual Conference/Forward Thinking Summit every 1.5 years. Please note CEs issued for the CSWM are also applicable for LBSW, LMSW and LCSW.
